Telehealth Services are available for existing patients

Since COVID-19 restrictions came into place in early 2020, medical professionals have adapted their offerings to ensure patients can still have consultations. Telehealth appointments are an excellent option for those who are isolating or have some common coronavirus symptoms but need to see a GP for other issues. GP’s can assess symptoms for diagnosis, generate scripts for medicine, order pathology tests, arrange specialist referrals and discuss results over the phone with patients. Medicare deems these sessions as eligible for rebates.

If a Telehealth consult is not sufficient for your medical problem, the doctor will suggest a face-to-face appointment or otherwise.

Telehealth appointments are a convenient way to discuss medical concerns with a GP without physically entering the practice. These take place over the phone. At the moment, Telehealth calls are mostly carried out if patients are experiencing covid-19 symptoms, to ensure that they do not put others at risk. Or if they are isolating or unable to leave home due to pandemic restrictions. Many conditions can be successfully diagnosed and treated with an initial Telehealth consult.
